A chaotic multi-vehicle smash-up rocked Vermont Knolls yesterday afternoon, as per the Los Angeles Fire Department. The crash, which took place at around 2:37 p.m. at 7307 S Hoover St, involved four cars — including one unoccupied and parked vehicle and ended up injuring a half-dozen people. In what's become an all-too-common scene on urban streets, first responders were quick to the scene, where they found a tangle of twisted metal. No individuals were trapped in the wreckage.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department's alert, three of the injured parties were transported to nearby hospitals in moderate condition. Two others suffered what were described as minor injuries and were also taken to receive medical care. In a testament to the unpredictable nature of such events, one individual involved in the accident refused ambulance transport, opting instead to seek aid on their terms. The incident, duly noted as LAPD Incident #3099, didn't have further details disclosed by officials on the scene.

Local emergency services were stretched the their limits with Fire Station 57, Battalion 13, and multiple RA units including RA14, RA246, RA57, RA814, RA833, RA846, RA857, and RA864, along with Emergency Medical Services squads EM13 and EM4, responding to the call. Images from the crash depicted the resulting havoc that midday traffic can bring to a standstill, while police and fire units worked in coordination to clear the scene and facilitate the transportation of the wounded to local hospitals.

In statements from the LAFD, Nicholas Prange, the spokesperson for the department, relayed the series of events without indulging in speculation about the cause of the collision. "Four-vehicle collision (one of them was parked/unoccupied) resulting in 6 injured patients," he reported. As of now, the department has not released further information regarding possible citations or charges.
