In a disconcerting turn of events, the South San Francisco Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a series of child sexual abuse incidents. Rafael Cortez-Ramirez, an individual now facing grave allegations, is accused of engaging in lewd acts with minors, according to official reports from local authorities.
Detectives launched an investigation following a report filed by an anonymous juvenile victim on January 6 as three juvenile victims were ultimately identified. The South San Francisco Police Department, delving deeper, discovered that the suspect resided on the 500 block of Third Lane, a seemingly innocuous location that also hosted unlicensed daycare.
After a diligent investigation, on January 11, Cortez-Ramirez was handcuffed and hauled off to face twelve felony charges related to child sex abuse and lewd acts with a child, police confirmed. The grim roster of charges against Cortez-Ramirez, currently booked at San Mateo County Jail, includes sections of sinister hues—209b I PC, 288 a PC, 288b I PC for two counts, 288.7 b PC for six counts, and 288.7 a PC for two counts.
The police call on the community, urging anyone who may harbor information related to Cortez-Ramirez or whose child may have been subjected to the shadowy corners of the unlicensed daycare between 2010 and 2019 to step forward.
