A suspected drunk driver has been slapped with cuffs and hauled off to the slammer after causing a wreck on the North Sam Houston Parkway West, say authorities. The crash, which sent one driver to the hospital for non-critical injuries, occurred on January 14, and the alleged boozed-up motorist, identified as Karen Coreas, was later arrested following a display of multiple intoxication signs.
In the aftermath of the collision, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office arrived at the 3400 block of the thoroughfare to investigate. After being subjected to a battery of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Coreas, in custody with slurred speech and unsteady balance, was deemed intoxicated. According to Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page, "Karen Coreas was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated."
The evidence against Coreas further mounted when she provided a breath specimen; her blood alcohol content was registered at a perilous 0.201, more than twice the legal limit. With the Harris County Jail now securing Coreas behind bars, her bond was set at a mere $100.00 out of County Court 6.
