
A case of disrespect blooming into violence unfolded this weekend at the Government Center subway station. The MBTA Transit Police Department reports the arrest of a male/female couple after they allegedly assaulted a 72-year-old man. The incident, which occurred on January 1 at approximately 8 PM, sparked when the couple began to verbally harass the elderly victim after he noticed the male suspect urinating in the corner of the platform.
According to a MBTA Transit Police's post, the confrontation escalated quickly as the duo approached and assaulted the older man. "The V observed the SP male urinating in the corner on platform & the duo began calling V names," the report on the social media platform noted. Attempting to hastily leave the scene only served to further provoke the suspects, prompting a physical altercation.

The victim, who has not been identified publicly, was transported to a hospital after suffering a head injury during the attack. The nature and severity of his injuries have not been disclosed. The authorities acted swiftly to apprehend the accused assailants, whose identities have also been indentified.
