According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office recently announced the indictment of 18-year-old Christopher Fantastic on felony charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault, stemming from an August attack at a fast-food restaurant in Gilbert.
In a related case, the teen violence spree claimed the life of Preston Lord in Queen Creek on October 30th, 2023, after he was assaulted at a Halloween party police are still pursuing leads the FBI joined the investigation hoping to bring closure to the Lord family. "We are committed to finding justice for Preston," Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice expressed in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix, articulating the relentless efforts of law enforcement to solve the case and secure convictions.
The parents of the victim in the Gilbert incident revealed their desperation and the unsettling impact the violence had on their family. "This has been an hour that night that happened with the police officer going through my son's phone. And we went through every message they have just to see if, you know, maybe my son instigated something or not. We couldn't find any connection or anything. He doesn't even know these kids," Richard Kuehner told FOX 10 Phoenix, highlighting the randomness and brutality of the attack, which left his son with significant injuries.
As the phenomenon of teen violence prompts a multisided investigation, linking to the so-called "Gilbert Goons" group has emerged. The police are piecing together evidence and witness testimonies that could classify the gang's actions as criminal activities under Arizona law enforcement officials from Chandler, Mesa, Queen Creek, and the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office along with the Arizona Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission (GIITEM) are pooling their resources in a combined effort to crack down on this escalating problem.
