Chaos erupted on a Phoenix street Saturday when a teenage duo in a hot-wheeled ride slammed into a police SUV and then a truck. Cops say it was around 4 p.m. when they got wind of the stolen car near 43rd Avenue and Bell Road. The vehicle was spotted near 29th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

Police say the teenage driver threw the stolen car into reverse, backing it into a fully marked police Tahoe before making a break for it, FOX 10 Phoenix reported. The chase that followed came to a screeching halt when the thieves crashed into a truck near the Interstate 17 and Peoria Avenue underpass. Both the teenage boy behind the wheel and his accomplice, a girl, were rounded up by the cops on the spot.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Melissa Soliz said, "The driver reversed into a fully marked patrol Tahoe and drove away from officers. As the stolen car continued to flee from officers, it crashed into a truck near the I-17 and Peoria underpass," abc15.com staff reported. Riding shotgun, the girl was detained alongside the driver.

Despite the jarring collisions, the Phoenix Police Department confirmed that the hell-bent flight from justice didn't result in any officer injuries. The teenage male, who seemed to play the lead in this reckless escapade, was whisked away by the fire department to a hospital as a precaution, presumably to check for injuries that might have resulted from the collision. The incident, while it could have veered into far graver territory, thankfully ended with no serious casualties reported.
