Moving over to Katy, another Texan turned a Powerball purchase from Timewise Food Store on Katy Freeway into a $2 million windfall, claiming their hefty prize from the Dec. 27 drawing, per an Express-News article. This marks the largest haul in a recent spate of oversized checks being doled out by the lottery.
Two other residents from New Caney and Lubbock are also feeling the glee of added zeroes in their bank accounts. The New Caney winner lucked out on a Ca$h Blowout ticket at Parkway Food Mart, and the Lubbock resident struck it rich with a Millionaire Maker ticket from Kwik Stop.
Each of these winners, remaining anonymous as they perhaps so wisely choose, has claimed a life-altering sum of $1 million.
