If you're wandering around Minnesota State University, Mankato, come February 18th and you're not in the Ostrander Auditorium by 4 PM, you're missing out. The reason? A documentary titled "The Weight of the Crown," promising an unflinching glimpse into the life and trials of Officer Matson will be screening, opening up the curtains to his personal narrative of survival, resilience and relentless dedication to the badge after being shot in the line of duty, as per Mankato Police and Fire.
The documentary itself isn't the only draw – Officer Arik Matson, alongside his wife, Megan, is set to welcome attendees, offering a rare opportunity to meet the couple whose journey of hardship, recovery, and courage the film meticulously chronicles; exploring not just the pivotal day when Matson faced a gunman, the subsequent path he and his family have walked toward healing up until his full recovery but also the depth of their connection to their community and each other, according to the Mankato Police and Fire.
