
A pre-dawn rollover crash on Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester has left two teenagers dead and another in critical condition, with a fourth young person hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Massachusetts State Police have been piecing together the tragic events of early Thursday morning that occurred shortly after 3 AM.
The fatalities were identified by authorities as male teenagers, one being a 14-year-old from Dorchester. The second deceased victim has been tentatively identified, however, details surrounding his identity have not been released pending confirmation, according to a Massachusetts State Police statement. A third teenager remains in grave condition at a Boston hospital, his identity remains unknown as of the last report.
The teens were traveling in a Hyundai reported stolen from Jamaica Plain earlier that day, as per State Police findings. In the aftermath of the accident, a firearm was found inside the wrecked vehicle and has been secured by the State Police Ballistics Unit. The Hyundai was subsequently towed to a state police facility for a more thorough investigation.
The gruesome scene was first encountered by a passing State Trooper who noticed the vehicle overturned on the inbound side of the road. Responding patrols from both State and Boston Police departments arrived alongside Boston Fire and EMS teams to manage rescue efforts. "We are investigating a serious rollover crash on Morrissey Blvd., Dorchester that occurred shortly after 3 AM," State Police stated on Hoodline.
