In Lakeville, Massachusetts, a vehicle barreled into a Dollar Tree store Sunday and then took off, authorities reported. The Lakeville Police Department, responding to the emergency at approximately 10 a.m., discovered notable havoc at the retailer situated at 56 Main Street, NBC Boston noted.
Early findings suggested that the car hopped the curb, leading to glass and debris littering the storefront, before fleeing the scene – no one was harmed in the process. The Lakeville Fire Department shared on Facebook the aftermath, including caution tape marking the chaotic area, a path of broken glass, and the damaged entrance, as confirmed by police and fire officials.
By Sunday evening, repairs were in progress to fortify the store's compromise, with workers seen addressing the broken windows and clearing the littered parking area. The site was a jumble of wood planks, glass shards, and twisted metal, as illustrated in detail by Boston 25 News.
The investigation remains active, and Lakeville Police are appealing to the public for leads. "Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Lakeville Police at 508-947-4422," officials relayed. The description of the vehicle and details about the driver, however, remain sparse at this hour.
