Williamson County is taking a day off to honor the legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Local government offices will shut down on Monday, Jan. 15, giving employees a chance to reflect on MLK's contributions to the fight for equality and justice. Services will go on a brief hiatus, but residents won't be left in the lurch thanks to a slew of online services that are available to meet their needs, as per www.wilcotx.gov

Those interested in civic engagement should be aware that the next Commissioners Court meeting is slated for the following week. The court will reconvene on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 9:30 a.m.

The historical courthouse at 710 S. Main Street in Georgetown, will once again play host, inviting the public back in to engage with the issues, voices, and decisions that shape everyday life in Williamson County, according to  www.wilcotx.gov.
