
A devastating blaze tore through two houses on Chicago's South Side Wednesday evening, leaving one woman critically injured.
The fire erupted in the West Englewood neighborhood, engulfing a pair of one-and-a-half-story frame bungalows located at 6314 and 6316 S. Hoyne Ave. Originally believed to be vacant, firefighters carried out searches once they managed to control the fire, discovering an injured woman inside, as reported by CBS Chicago. She was swiftly taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

In a post from CFD Media, the victim was described as an adult female. The overhaul process, a search for hot spots and potential hidden fires, was conducted by firefighters following her transportation to the hospital.
By 10:25 p.m., the fire was extinguished. The cause of this incident has yet to be determined, and the Office of Fire Investigation is on the scene. Apart from the critical injuries sustained by the woman, no other injuries have been reported in connection with the fire.
