The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office reported that the middle-aged woman, adorned in dark clothing, was traversing Keith Bridge Road near Freedom Parkway when she met her untimely end, as noted by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The unfortunate incident unfolded around 8:30 p.m. when a Dodge Caravan, operated by a 57-year-old man from Cumming collided with the victim as she crossed the road moving from the Waffle House/Ingles to the QT in an area described as poorly lit, the driver halted immediately following the crash, reports The Georgia Sun.
Authorities stated the driver of the Dodge Caravan remained at the scene and has so far not been charged, though an investigation into the incident is still active.
