
A woman was hospitalized following a shooting incident while traveling in a car on New Year's Day in Naranja, Miami-Dade. According to NBC Miami, the Miami-Dade police were called to the scene early Monday morning after reports of a person shot.
The victim was in the vehicle with two men, heading southbound on SW 139 Avenue, when an assailant in an unknown vehicle opened fire on them. The woman suffered gunshot wounds during the assault. Subsequently, she was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital and remained in stable condition. The shooting incident led to the car crashing near or against a building, as depicted in video footage from the crime scene.
In a separate report by CBS News Miami, it was noted that the shooting occurred in the vicinity of SW 139th Avenue and 261st Street. Details provided by the police indicated that the woman, along with the two men, was targeted suddenly as their car was on the move.
The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed, and the authorities have not yet identified any suspects. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue team's swift response ensured the victim received immediate medical care.
