Early Wednesday morning, a woman was shot in a home in Atlanta's West End, sparking hours-long police standoff. According to Atlanta News First, the incident occurred on Queen Street SW and resulted in large-scale law enforcement response, including Atlanta PD, SWAT, and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
Details are sparse, but the area was shut down, with officers’ guns drawn as they handled the developing situation. Authorities have yet to confirm any arrests about the incident. The injured female was transported to an area hospital, but the extent of her injuries remains undisclosed.
A heavy presence of police cars was observed near the residence, and the vicinity was blocked from vehicular passage, as reported by 11Alive.
