It's time for dog owners in Woodbury to mark their calendars and their pets. The city has announced the window for purchasing the 2024-2025 dog licenses is now open, as per the city's official statement. These tags are more than just bling for your furry friend's collar; they aid in the swift return of lost dogs to their worried owners, according to the City of Woodbury.
Wandering into valuable territory, the licenses are no longer just about identification—they now double as keys to the city's cherished Andy's Bark Park. Each license comes coupled with a parking pass for the off-leash dog haven. Dog owners who find themselves pining for additional passes can snag them at City Hall for $5 apiece. Rules are rules, though, and all potential park-goers need to sport their license and display their parking pass on the front window to gain entry.
Woodbury isn't playing fetch with the deadline, either. All pooches six months and up need to be licensed by March 31, 2024. The City's notification states that the early birds who get this duty done before that date will score a fee of $10 for spayed or neutered dogs and $18 for those who aren't—provided they are Woodbury residents. Non-residents need to dish out $15 and $23, respectively.
For newcomers who've just unpacked their dog beds into Woodbury, they're thrown a bone with a 60-day grace period to get their dog's licensing squared away. But there's a leash on this process—proof of current rabies vaccination from your vet is a must-have to complete the licensing. Getting this done is a walk in the park: residents can apply through the mail or step into the City Hall at 8301 Valley Creek Road.
