An 18-year-old male was rushed to the hospital after being shot multiple times at a Chula Vista apartment complex, authorities said Wednesday. The gunfire was reported around 11:44 a.m. Tuesday, at the Sunrose Apartments located at 1325 Santa Rita, as confirmed by the Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD).
First responding officers discovered the young man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where, according to a statement from the CVPD, he is now "in stable condition with what appears to be non-life-threatening wounds." The scene was cleared by the officers, but the search for the suspect, who fled on foot in an unspecified direction, continues. No description of the suspect has been provided yet.
