In Arlington, a tragic event unfolded last week when a 31-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after a high-speed crash, an incident that has shaken the local community. According to NBC DFW, the accident took place in the 100 block of E. Mitchell Street on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 10:43 p.m., where the motorcyclist collided with a 2006 Toyota Camry after crossing into oncoming traffic.
The man was reportedly riding eastbound at a high speed and crossed the double yellow lines, which led to the collision with the Camry traveling westbound, the speed he was going likely contributed to the severity of the accident leading to him being thrown from his bike, he was taken to a hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries approximately one week later. Navbug UK also reported on the tragic incident but without additional details.
The Arlington Police Department has investigated the incident and revealed that, thankfully, the occupants of the Camry did not sustain injuries and are not facing any charges following the incident. The identity of the deceased has not been made public, leaving a community to mourn in anonymity the loss of a life too soon extinguished on the streets they walk every day.
