Authorities in Midlothian, Texas, are on the hunt for a female suspect accused of attempting bank fraud after she purportedly tried to cash a forged check using a stolen driver's license as identification. On January 3, the woman entered Pinnacle Bank on East US Highway 287 and almost duped the staff with her scheme, according to the Midlothian Police Department.
The bank personnel, suspecting foul play, acted promptly and contacted the Midlothian Police Department, however in a twist of events the suspect left the scene before officers could arrive and it's believed she was either dropped off nearby or parked her vehicle away from the bank to avoid detection by parking lot surveillance. The identification she used came from Wise County, where it was reported stolen, painting a broad stroke of criminal intent that spanned across county lines.
Police are now appealing to the public for any leads. Detective Cole Underwood is the point of contact for this case, and the department urges anyone with information to reach out at 972.775.7634 or via email at [email protected].
The authorities have released photographs of the suspect, which can be viewed on the department's official Facebook post linked above, anyone recognizing this individual or with any pertinent information leading to her identification is not only contributing to resolving this case but is also helping to stem the tide of identity theft and fraud that plague communities, because security isn't just the responsibility of the police.
