A bicyclist lost their life in a tragic collision with a vehicle at a Perris intersection on Thursday afternoon, officials reported. The Riverside Sheriff's Perris Station deputies responded to the emergency call at 2:54 p.m. at the crossroads of A Street and Redding Way. Upon arrival, they discovered the bicyclist critically injured and unresponsive. Despite immediate life-saving attempts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators found that the driver, who was involved in the fatal incident, remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials, Sergeant Jeremy Bracey noted. The collision occurred when the vehicle was making a left turn and the bicyclist, who seemingly failed to halt at a stop sign, struck the vehicle's front end.
