Bostonians woke up to a chilled Washington's Birthday marred by gusts as high as 22 mph. But the mercury is set to rise steadily through the week with sunny skies ahead, according to National Weather Service. The NWS promises a sunny day with temperatures peaking at a brisk 37 degrees and winds slacking off tonight to lows around 19.
This week, the forecast promises a break from a chill as high-pressure rolls in. "Tuesday and Wednesday will feature lighter winds and sunshine," NBC Boston reports, painting a picture of idyllic winter days with highs in the mid-30s to low 40s. However, those planning to hit the streets early on Tuesday might want to layer up as the morning is anticipated to be slightly nippy.
Temperatures are expected to climb towards the end of the work week, with a weather system on the horizon that spells the end of the tranquil weather. Thursday's partly sunny promise is set to be overtaken by clouds and a chance of rain entering as early as the evening. On Friday, "Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 47," warns the NWS.
