
The Boston Police Department is on the lookout for two individuals involved in a string of robberies that rattled the Hyde Park neighborhood last Monday. According to an alert issued by the BPD, the suspects struck at about 5:51 PM near 853 River Street and again at 6:57 PM at 942A Hyde Park Avenue.
The first suspect is a black male, believed to be in his twenties, who was seen wearing a black hoodie, black surgical mask, and gloves. His cohort, also a black male in his twenties, was initially spotted in a red hoodie, gray sweatpants, glasses, and a black mask before changing into a yellow sweatshirt, the BPD stated. Witnesses report seeing the suspects fleeing up Metropolitan Ave., then down Hyde Park Ave. toward American Legion Highway following the incidents.
In an effort to crack the case, detectives have turned to the community for assistance. The BPD is combing through evidence and is urging anyone with information to come forward. "The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding these incidents," the BPD news release mentioned.
Anonymous tips are welcomed by the department. People with leads can call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or text 'TIP' to CRIME (27463), the department promises stringent protection of the identity of informants. With these recent acts of crime casting a shadow over the community, the BPD holds its breath, hoping for a tipoff that will help capture the perpetrators and restore peace to the anxious streets of Hyde Park.
