On the quiet streets of Brookway Wind Court, a disturbance sparked major concern and led to the arrest of one Nemer Batnij, who now faces charges for making terroristic threats. The incident unfolded on February 27, when deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were called to a residence following reports of an altercation. Batnij, now in custody, is accused of threatening to harm both an individual and their family, as well as his own former employers.
It didn't take long for law enforcement to respond to the scene, where they detained Batnij, who, upon further investigation, was found to have sent multiple threatening texts. According to the official statement by Constable Mark Herman's Office on Facebook, these messages were unequivocally ominous, with Batnij stating he intended to kill not just an unnamed victim, but their loved ones and former colleagues as well. The situation escalated when Batnij arrived at the victim's home, significantly armed with a loaded handgun.
In the aftermath of this alarming event, "Nemer Batnij was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Terroristic Threat," announced Constable Mark Herman. The legal repercussions were swift, with his bond being set at a substantial $50,000.00, as relayed by the same source. The case has been taken to County Court 13, where Batnij will await further proceedings while the community exhales a collective sigh of relief, shaking off the chill of the threats that brought fear so close to home.
