Buddy's Pizza, a Detroit-area staple for more than 75 years, is setting up shop in Canton with a new carryout-only location slated to open its doors on February 26. The new establishment, which will be nestled at 42911 Ford Rd., makes this the 23rd spot for the acclaimed pizza chain known for its signature Detroit-style pies.

Keeping up with their tradition of giving back to the community, Buddy's Pizza plans to fully donate all proceeds from their grand opening day to the Plymouth-Canton Educational Foundation. In a statement obtained by FOX 2 Detroit, the company highlighted that the foundation aids in funding initiatives that the school district's budget doesn't cover, thereby bolstering resources for teachers and students alike. To further celebrate the occasion, a daily raffle will randomly select five lucky Canton customers to receive free Buddy’s Pizza for a year.

This freshly minted location will keep its ovens blazing from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, allowing an extra hour on Fridays and Saturdays to stretch until 10 p.m., and opening at noon on Sundays until 9 p.m. As reported by Detroit Free Press, patrons will still be able to savor the full Buddy's experience with an array of offerings, including their famed Buddy bread, antipasto salads, kinds of pasta, and sandwiches.

While expanding, Buddy's holds fast to its legacy that began at the corner of Six Mile and Conant in Detroit, where in the past was a speakeasy called Buddy’s Rendezvous before it was transformed into the pizza powerhouse it is today. According to Patch, the Canton location boasts itself as the seventh carryout-only spot in the Buddy's Pizza family, with full-service restaurants numbering 16 throughout metro Detroit.

Pizza enthusiasts in the nearby areas of Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi, and Plymouth Township have frequented Buddy's for its authentic Detroit-style pizzas. The brand's signature remains its dark, deep pans which lead to a unique, caramelized cheese crust with sauce ladled on top, a method that has stood the test of time and taste.
