Livonia is getting a new spot to grab a burger and a beer this holiday season. The Livonia Yard House is set to open Dec. 7, moving into the former Bahama Breeze Island Grille on Haggerty Road near AMC Livonia 20.
The opening date comes from the company's website, according to The Detroit News. The new restaurant will sit at 19600 Haggerty, the same address where Bahama Breeze once welcomed diners before shutting its doors. Yard House is described as a beer-centric chain that will bring a massive draft beer selection alongside a large food menu, as reported by Yahoo News.
Menu highlights include pub grub, burgers, seafood and steaks, along with special menus built for vegan diners and people with gluten sensitivities, per the same report. The Livonia location marks Yard House's second restaurant in metro Detroit, following the brand's Troy opening in late 2018.
From Island Grille to Beer Hall
The Haggerty Road address has a recent history of turnover. The Livonia Bahama Breeze was originally slated to close April 5, 2026, according to the Detroit News. The restaurant ended up closing earlier than planned, shutting its doors on March 16, 2026, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
The early closure left the Haggerty Road building empty for months before Yard House's arrival filled the gap. That shutdown was part of a broader retreat for the Bahama Breeze brand. In February 2026, parent company Darden announced it would permanently close 14 Bahama Breeze locations nationwide and convert the remaining 14 into another Darden brand, according to ClickOnDetroit's reporting.
Darden said at the time that the closures and conversions were not expected to materially affect its financial results, the Detroit News reported. Livonia's location was among those slated for permanent closure rather than conversion, clearing the way for a different concept to move in.
A Growing Chain Heads to Southeast Michigan
Yard House was founded in California in 1996 and now has around 100 locations across the United States, according to Yahoo News. The Livonia opening gives the chain its second toehold in metro Detroit, expanding its footprint beyond the Troy restaurant that debuted in 2018.
With a Dec. 7 target date and a menu built around comfort-food staples and an expansive beer list, the new Yard House is positioned to become a go-to stop for moviegoers heading to AMC Livonia 20 next door and locals looking for a fresh option on Haggerty Road.
