Chaos erupted on the East Side when a car theft suspect smashed into a police vehicle and vanished into the night, police sources said. This brazen act of defiance took place in the early hours off Finis Avenue, near Loop 410.
According to FOX San Antonio, law enforcement had kept an eye on a stolen car and witnessed as the suspect, an individual yet to be identified, slipped behind the wheel. With strategic precision, police attempted to impede the suspect's escape by parking their vehicles at both ends of the stolen ride.
The suspect geared up and slammed the car into the police cruiser blocking the way forward. Amid this altercation, a shot rang out from one officer's gun, aimed at the suspect, but failed to meet its mark. The suspect managed to break free, leaving authorities in the dust, as reported by the same source.
With the perpetrator still at large, the officers' search proved unsuccessful. Should law enforcement catch up to the crafty individual, charges awaiting include aggravated assault of a peace officer. Meanwhile, the investigation continues.
