Carol Stream resident Jeffrey Johnson, 36, has been slapped with a felony robbery charge after reportedly mugging a 19-year-old in June last year, Chicago police reported. Johnson, who hails from the 1200 block of W. Oriole Trl., is set to stand before a judge for a detention hearing at the 2600 S. California courthouse.
The accused was nabbed on February 27, 2024, on W. Grand Ave., suspected of being the man who, on June 30, 2023, decided to violently strike and rob a young adult on W. Roosevelt Rd. in the city's 10th District. This breakthrough came after an extensive investigation by Chicago's law enforcement aimed to swiftly bring to justice those who dare to brazenly violate a community's peace and security.
According to a release from the Chicago Police Department (CPD), Johnson was identified by detectives and subsequently charged with one felony count of robbery. As per police reports, on the night of the incident, the offender allegedly confronted the young victim, delivering a strike before making off with his belongings.
