CAVA Opens New Hollywood Location with a Focus on Heart-Healthy Cuisine and Community SupportSource: CAVA

Hollywood is now home to the latest CAVA location, marking one of more than 45 new outposts the Mediterranean fast-casual brand has planned for 2024. With its doors now open at 6200 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028, the eatery is looking to make its mark with heart-healthy options like bowls, pitas, and an assortment of dips and dressings.

CAVA's mission is a lofty one: "to bring heart, health, and humanity to food." At least, that's what Regional Director Tony Frazier said in a statement obtained by What Now Los Angeles. A mission, that seems to go beyond just serving up savory dishes to include tackling food insecurity one grand opening at a time.

Before officially serving its first bowl, CAVA's Hollywood establishment hosted a Community Day where folks could enjoy a complimentary meal and donate to FoodCycle LA, a nonprofit aiming to curb food waste and feed those in need across Los Angeles. Donations are matched by CAVA up to $1,000—a practice that's amounted to over $500,000 since 2019 to support similar causes, according to their website.

The generosity didn't stop with the opening day. In the days leading up to the grand event, CAVA partnered with FoodCycle LA and Impact Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center, to donate food that otherwise would have gone to waste. It's all part of a food donation program the company kicked off in October 2023, aiming to reduce food waste and improve food insecurity as they spread their footprint.

CAVA’s Hollywood location is more than just a place to grab a fast, healthy bite—it's about community. The new spot is providing jobs for 30-35 locals, seeking individuals known for their warmth and hospitality. More than just a paycheck, employees get perks like paid time off, healthcare benefits and access to both an Employee Assistance Program and free mental health support. It’s apparent, the focus here is on building careers, not just filling positions.
