The local heroes who have dedicated their time and talents to bettering the community now have a chance to be acknowledged for their contributions through eight distinct award categories. This call to action is extended to faith-based groups, nonprofits, schools, and businesses who wish to honor their most diligent volunteers across numerous categories, which range from the Innovation Award to the Youth Volunteer of the Year. According to the city's announcement, only online applications will be accepted and must heed the deadline. Leading the charge for such recognition, Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke ensures that dedicated volunteers who have clocked in over 1,000 hours in 2023 will receive a lapel pin and certificate. Additionally, certificates await those who have surpassed 100 hours of volunteer service.
