
A child's routine visit to a Northwest Miami-Dade home turned harrowing as they were mauled by a dog and subsequently airlifted to a trauma center, Miami-Dade Police reported. The incident unfolded when the homeowners, in an attempt to acquaint the child with their pet, witnessed the animal lashing out violently.
The young victim, whose visit took a devastating turn, was bitten multiple times, this according to authorities, and rescue teams from Miami-Dade Fire were dispatched, arriving to transport the wounded child via chopper to Jackson Memorial Hospital; 7Skyforce captured overhead footage of the child, lying on a stretcher, while responders hastily applied bandages to injuries on her head, foot, and arm.
As detailed by NBC Miami, the attack called for a response not just from police but also from Miami-Dade Animal Services, who responded to the residence on Monday morning, while the condition of the child battered in the mauling stayed uncertain.
Separate coverage by WSVN identified the victim as a 7-year-old girl and disclosed that the aggressive dog responsible for her injuries had yet to be captured, thus creating an undercurrent of unease within the community, what's more, the authorities are continuing their investigation into this violent episode, as neighbors grapple with the shock of such brutality happening in their midst.
