Directors Shana Carroll and Sebastien Soldevila have teamed up with local skater Hunter Grimm to bring this icy adventure to life. As KVUE reports, audiences can expect an array of never-before-seen moves that promise to elevate the versatility of Cirque du Soleil's repertoire in a wholly new direction.
According to KVUE, Artistic Director Robert Tannion highlights the unique aspect of the show, "The show highlights Cirque du Soleil’s creativity in a new way and encourages audiences to find the magic of the everyday,” he said. “Every time you watch the show, you’ll see something new." Leaning into the technological frontier, "CRYSTAL" boasts an immersive experience with large-scale interactive projections and an integrated spotlight tracking system. But it's not just about the visuals. As CultureMap details, Cirque du Soleil is breaking its traditional mold by incorporating top pop songs into Crystal’s soundtrack. Christine Achampong, the show's senior publicist told CultureMap, “Our entire ‘stage’ is an ice rink, so everything and everyone slides and glides across the surface, which creates another layer of speed and spectacle in the show.”
