Portland Fire and Rescue (PF&R) alerted the public via a post on X, about the inferno near North Killingsworth Court and North Albina Avenue at roughly 6:30 a.m, with onlookers witnessing a thick plume of black smoke and high-reaching flames dominating the skyline.

As traffic was rerouted, local meteorologist and traffic reporter Chris McGinness noted the closure of North Albina Avenue just south of North Killingsworth Court, the conflagration's searing fury posed substantial risks, prompting city officials and crews to swarm the scene, a one-story concrete edifice where smoke billowed with menace from behind a roll-up door," according to a statement obtained by KGW.
PF&R indicated added troubles sprouted minutes following their initial assessment; smoke forcefully emerged from an additional section of the building as fire personnel tackled the primary blaze with a growing anxiety that fire would leap to abutting structures.
