Riley, a transfer student from UGA to the Augusta University nursing program in Athens, was remembered in her obituary as "an amazing daughter, sister, friend and overall person in general," with a deep love for the Lord that was "exemplified in every aspect of her life." As reported by Atlanta News First, the family is foregoing flowers, instead asking for donations to an online fundraiser to help with funeral expenses, establish a scholarship in Riley's name, and to raise homicide awareness.

The suspect in Riley's murder, José Antonio Ibarra, 26, faces a slew of charges, including murder and kidnapping. According to reports, Ibarra is not a U.S. citizen and it is believed he did not know Riley.
