North Texas law enforcement officials are turning to the public for help in the capture of a fugitive who has evaded authorities since 2016 and is now back under a televised spotlight. "America's Most Wanted" featured Cesar Colin on Monday night’s episode, a man accused of a heinous act of violence against former girlfriend Gloria Sanchez. In a 2016 attack, Colin allegedly stabbed Sanchez multiple times after she refused to have sex with him, according to FOX 4 News.
The violent ordeal occurred on November 20, when White Settlement police responded to a desperate 911 call from Sanchez, who could barely speak from her injuries, as reported by CBS News Texas. She was found in critical condition and required immediate medical attention to survive the brutal attack. After initially fleeing to Mexico, investigators believe Colin might have returned to North Texas, sparking renewed urgency in the manhunt.
Further intensifying Sanchez's nightmare, Colin is believed to have sent two gunmen to her new residence after learning of her survival. This alarming detail emerged as the hitmen encountered Sanchez's daughter, who coolly misled them regarding her mother's whereabouts, stated White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook in an interview with FOX 4 News. "Her daughter kind of played it real cool and said, ‘Hey, she’s not here,'" he recounted.
"Someone has information on Colin's whereabouts, and we need to hear from them," Chief Cook emphasized in a statement obtained by CBS News Texas. The department has released that they have reasons to believe "this fugitive on the run may have returned to the North Texas area." Pressure mounts as local police and federal partners collaborate to bring Colin to justice and deliver a semblance of peace to the victim and her family.
The White Settlement Police Department's ongoing investigation welcomes any tips or information, which can be reported to their tip line at 817-246-4973, by email at [email protected], or through Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS. As the search continues, officials and the community alike hope that the exposure from "America's Most Wanted" will bring the crucial lead that finally puts a stop to Colin's flight from the law.
