Chaos erupted in a Dallas neighborhood when gunfire rang out, leaving one man dead and a woman injured in the early hours of February 6. Dallas Police were called to the scene at the 9300 block of Skillman Street around 1:25 a.m., following reports of a shooting, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Kenneth Jernigan shot and lying on the ground in a parking lot. A woman was also found with a gunshot wound to her arm inside an adjacent apartment. Both victims were attended to by Dallas Fire-Rescue, but Jernigan succumbed to his injuries on the scene, while the woman was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
The night's violence has prompted an ongoing investigation by Dallas authorities, who are currently working on the case, logged as number 020445-2024.
