Over two decades have passed since Telemachus "Tim" McNeal was shot dead on a Dallas street, but detectives are determined to not let his story fade quietly into the pages of unresolved crime. The Dallas Police Department appealed this week, seeking new leads in the cold case murder of 25-year-old McNeal who was killed during a robbery in 2001.

According to the Dallas Police Department, on that fateful day of January 25, McNeal's life was brutally cut short on the 6900 block of Skillman Street. The initial investigation had led nowhere, leaving authorities to try and piece together the circumstances of the young man's death from scant clues and a legacy of silence. Now, to possibly try and bring closure to a family long haunted by tragedy, authorities are urging the public to look back through their memories for anything to help solve the long-stalled case.

The years have done little to dampen the resolve of the Dallas Police, with Sergeant Jeff Hunter leading the renewed push for justice. "If anyone has any information regarding the death of Mr. Telemachus 'Tim' McNeal, please contact Sergeant Jeff Hunter," as per the Dallas Police Department. The case, with the number 59396-K, has been etched into the annals of cold cases that still hold out for a resolution.

Community members with information, regardless of how important one might consider it, are encouraged to come forward and assist in the investigation. Detective Hunter can be contacted directly at 214-671-3661 or via email at [email protected]. The department believes that even after these many years, there are people out in the community holding pieces of the puzzle that could finally put an end to the endless questions surrounding McNeal's untimely and violent death.
