Three Daly City residents were nabbed by Pacifica Police following a reported retail theft at Linda Mar Center, authorities disclosed. The suspects tried a sneaky getaway but didn't get far. On February 2, around 1:35 PM, police officers were alerted to a shoplifting incident and were quick to track down a black Ford sedan described by witnesses fleeing the scene along Highway 1, as detailed by the Pacifica Police Department's Facebook page.
One of the officers spotted the suspect vehicle heading north on the highway and swiftly pulled it over. Despite the driver's lone appearance, two additional suspects were found huddled in the back seat, attempting concealment underneath a blanket. All three suspects, barely hidden from view, were detained and later fingered by the store staff as the culprits behind the theft.
The police's investigation led to the recovery of stolen goods valued over $500, which were returned to the rightful owner. The trio of suspects included 21-year-old Randy Gelviz-Hernandez, 35-year-old Dilce Vega-Omana, and 36-year-old Johana Cuadros-Zerpa, all hailing from Daly City. They were charged with shoplifting and criminal conspiracy and were issued criminal citations before being released from the scene.
The cops are looking for witnesses with more dirt on this heist. The Pacifica Police Department is asking anyone with the skinny on this crime to step forward and give them a call at 650-738-7314 or to dial in on the Silent Witness Tip Line at 650-359-4444. It could help put the final nail in the suspects' legal coffin.
