The city of Denton is rolling out the welcome mat for a new face in the halls of local government. Kristi Fogle, a Denton native with a hefty resume from her time in Austin, has been tapped to become the Chief of Staff – a role aimed at bolstering the city's legislative strategies, policy development, and intergovernmental affairs. City Manager Sara Hensley made the announcement Friday, noting Fogle's history of streamlining government operations and enhancing the local constituent experience, according to the City of Denton, Texas.
With nearly a decade's worth of experience directly in the political trenches of the State's Capitol, Fogle has managed to rise through the ranks, serving as a chief advisor to several Texas State Representatives. She is expected to bring her legislative expertise back home to serve the community she grew up in. "Our commitment to delivering high-quality services across Denton begins with a talented and empowered workforce," Hensley stated, as per the City of Denton, Texas. Fogle's background also includes time with the Austin Chamber of Commerce, where she was responsible for coordinating wide-spanning policy and advocacy campaigns.
The decision follows a nationwide search to fill the influential city role. In addition to her legislative prowess, Fogle is taking the helm of the City Secretary's Office, ensuring that statutory duties are met with precision and authority. "It is with great enthusiasm that I return to my hometown to contribute to Denton’s future and work alongside so many talented professionals for a mission-focused organization," Fogle said, per the City of Denton, Texas.
Fogle's educational background, featuring degrees from Texas Woman’s University and the University of Texas at Austin, both in Social Work, where her focus was public policy and nonprofit administration, positions her to effectively bridge the gaps between policy design and community needs.
