The county's homepage also got a facelift earlier this year, ditching its former www.CelebrateDouglasCounty.com address for the more official-sounding www.DouglasCountyGa.gov. Security experts give the thumbs up to the change, pointing out that the .gov domain is tougher for cybercrooks to tamper with, meaning the residents' personal information is better protected. Plus, it throws a wrench in the schemes of bad actors looking to scam the public by masquerading as legitimate government entities.
"Our goal is to not only safeguard the flow of information to and from our constituents but to unite our digital resources under a cohesive brand for ease of reference," Yvette Jones, Douglas County’s Chief Communications Officer, said in a recent statement. She confirmed that the county is on track to keep amping up their digital game, with more assets expected to align with the 'Douglas County Government' branding soon.
