A driver is on the lam after plowing their vehicle into a brick neighborhood sign in Castle Hills, authorities said Wednesday. The crash occurred near the intersection of Braesview and Beacon Creek, with San Antonio firefighters responding to the single-vehicle incident at approximately 3:30 a.m, according to KENS5.
Upon arrival, the emergency crew discovered an SUV that had collided with the sign. The driver, however, had already fled the scene, police stated. As of now, police are conducting a search for the absconding driver, there's no clarity yet on what charges they may face upon capture.
The vehicle not only struck the brick sign but had also rolled over onto its side, indicating the severity of the crash. The car, lying in a mangled heap next to the damaged sign, marked the entrance to The Gardens at Castle Hills neighborhood. No arrests have been made following the incident, and authorities have yet to identify any suspects. The police appeal to the public for any information that could aid in the driver's apprehension.
