
Chaos erupted late last night when a driver's tire blew out, sending his car barreling into the office of a northeast San Antonio apartment complex. The incident occurred on the 2100 block of NE Loop 410, near Starcrest Drive, shortly before midnight, as reported by KENS 5.
The San Antonio Police Department arrived at the scene at around 11:30 p.m. to find that the man had lost control of his vehicle following, the blowout and subsequently crashed into the Merida Apartment Homes' office. Although the driver managed to escape unharmed the accident prompted officials to examine the damaged structure, according to information from KSAT.
Authorities, including the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS, swiftly responded to the incident. Firefighters at the site carried out an assessment to ensure the safety of the building's structure and worked to shore up compromised areas, underscoring the seriousness of the collision.
There was no immediate estimate on the extent of the damage caused to the building, fire department officials have yet to release details regarding any potential risk to its overall integrity, or the cost of the repairs that will follow.
