Aguilar, a local content creator known for his stunning aerial views of Austin, will lend his eye to the iconic race, according to KXAN.
Aguilar's Instagram account Aerial Austin is filled with the sights of the city from sunsets downtown to the zest of Austin life—barbecue smoke wafting from pits and paddleboarders gliding on Lady Bird Lake. This videographer, who started as a humble coffee roaster capturing latte art, drew the marathon organizers' attention, as per KXAN.
Deeply rooted in the city's fabric, the Austin Marathon is steeped in history with past champions and record times etched in the local sports annals. Participants from all corners of the globe are expected, and while the full marathon registrations are sold out, spots in the half-marathon and 5K remain up for grabs, as reported by BNN Breaking.
Aguilar doesn't just bring technical skill to the table. Having pounded the same pavement as the competitors last year, he's bringing an insider's understanding of every turn and straightaway. "I think part of [getting the offer to film it] was just my work and just being consistent, and they’ve seen it and they wanted to work with me,” Aguilar said, as stated in KXAN.
