The Dunwoody Police Department deployed after receiving a witness's report around 1:45 a.m. near Holly Oak Place and Chamblee Dunwoody Road, FOX 5 Atlanta reported. The responding officers scoured the area but didn't spot the suspect. Not long after, at around 4 a.m., residents of Manhasset subdivision played hero when they spotted, and reported a man that matched the earlier description breaking into cars.

Pulling a swift one on the suspect, police discovered him injured and attempting to conceal himself behind a residential property. Taking no chances, the suspect's flee attempt was cut short as officers promptly arrested him, as stated by officials interviewed by WSB-TV. The suspect was identified by law enforcement as 31-year-old Kenton Robertson.

Robertson was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries, and will see the inside of a cell at the DeKalb County Jail once he's patched up. Meanwhile, the Dunwoody Police Department was lauded for their rapid response and effectiveness, while the vigilant citizens received praise for their role in the suspect's capture with, "Great job by (the) officers and great job by the watchful homeowner," the department said, as per WSB-TV. As the case progresses, Robertson is facing pending charges for his alleged predawn pilfering.
