An East Boston man is now confined to his home under GPS surveillance after Massachusetts State Police found him with two large-capacity firearms stashed in his clothing during a traffic stop, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden's office revealed.

Takahari Robinson, 22, faces numerous charges including illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, possession of large-capacity magazines, illegal possession of loaded firearms, and several traffic violations. He was charged this past Tuesday in East Boston BMC, according to the Suffolk District Attorney's announcement. Judge Margaret Albertson ruled that Robinson posed a danger to the public and ordered him to remain at home, with the conditions of his confinement to be reassessed pending the submission of his work schedule to the court.

The arrest came about when state troopers patrolling Maverick Square noticed a white GMC Terrain fail to obey a stop sign while turning left onto London Street from Decator Street. When they initiated the stop, Robinson tried to walk away, ignoring troopers' orders to halt. Upon catching up with him, officers discovered two guns — both Glocks, one with a laser attachment and a combined total of 47 rounds of ammunition — on his person.

Robinson has been ordered not to possess any weapons and to refrain from committing new offenses. He will return to court on February 29 to discuss legal representation, "This man was carrying a frightening amount of destruction in his pockets. This is a good example of the illegal firepower we in law enforcement see far too often, as well as the unpredictability of police officers’ daily field interactions," Hayden said in a statement obtained by the Suffolk District Attorney's Office.
