The Ennis Police Department recently rolled out the red carpet for their own, hosting the second annual awards banquet to honor the men and women who have gone above and beyond in the line of duty over the past year. The banquet, which took place earlier this week, celebrated a select group of its team members with various recognitions that shone a spotlight on their accomplishments and dedication.
In what can only be described as a grand gesture to acknowledge exceptional service, the department doled out several awards to its finest. This year’s honorees, as announced by the Ennis Police Department, included David Dodd who snagged the "We're Working On It" award. In a demonstration of the department's commitment not only to keep the peace but also to improve constantly, the award seems to simultaneously serve as a nod to continued growth.
Among other award recipients was Savannah Ybarra, who was named "Civilian Employee of the Year," highlighting the crucial role civilian staff play in the operations of any police force. Officer Zachary Jones took home the "Officer of the Year" award for his noteworthy contributions to the force, while Supervisor Chad Bolton was recognized as "Supervisor of the Year." In an ultimate mark of distinction, Jason York was bestowed with the "Chief's Award for Excellence," underscoring his exceptional performance in service.
The department, proud to emphasize the character and teamwork of its staff, has made it clear that these annual celebrations are not merely a pat on the back but an essential part of maintaining morale and motivation among the ranks. "We are truly fortunate to have such a remarkable team of individuals who exhibit exceptional character and teamwork while providing the highest level of service to our community," cited the Ennis Police Department.
