Glenn Jordan, a survivor of the traumatic gas explosion at Chandler, is poised to reopen the All-American Eyeglass Repair shop nearly three years after the incident that nearly claimed his life. The explosion, sourced from a leak in a print shop down the unit, occurred on August 26, 2021. It left Jordan with second and third-degree burns over more than 40% of his body, according to AZFamily.

In a retelling of the fateful day, Jordan shared with ABC15, "This is Glenn with All American…" — quipped Jordan, recalling his last words before the blast that ripped through the building, "I didn’t get it all out. That’s when the building exploded, you heard the sounds." After the explosion, Jordan was trapped under debris and required months of vocal and physical rehabilitation which enabled him to regain his strength and continue to support other burn survivors.

Instead of surrendering to his injuries, Jordan became a volunteer with the Arizona Burn Foundation and spearheaded a grueling pull-up challenge that raised over $40,000. The event was a testament to his resolve and dedication to the cause. Now, on February 5, 2024, the same store at Suite 5 is re-opening, signaling a remarkable comeback. Speaking on the healing process, Jordan told AZFamily, "It has come full circle. Opening up completes that circle."

Jordan, who still keeps the charred remains of his shirt from the day of the explosion as a reminder of his journey and the progress he's made, is ready to help others "see clearly" again with a newfound perspective. "Make sure you keep people around you that are positive, and make sure you put in the effort," Jordan advocated in a reflection of his resiliency. The Chandler store will welcome customers once more from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the details of which were shared by ABC15.
