In a break of dawn raid, three men were hauled off to the slammer as part of an unfolding drug investigation in the sleepy town of Fallbrook. The local sheriff's deputies, working off a tip about a residence peddling narcotics, secured a search warrant and sprang into action at the crack of dawn on February 7.
Trawling through a house on the 2700 Block of Los Alisos Drive, deputies unearthed an arsenal including two ghost guns – firearms built from kits without serial numbers, making them practically invisible to law enforcement's gaze. The bust didn't stop there. The list of confiscated goods also touted a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, a lone handgun lower receiver, along with a cache of over 1,300 rounds of ammunition and a bevy of handgun magazines.
But the long arm of the law swept up more than just untraceable iron; over five pounds of drugs – marijuana, heroin, methamphetamines, and the potent killer fentanyl – were seized alongside all the trappings for a drug-selling enterprise. The meticulously executed raid exposed the underbelly of the suburban façade that often masquerades as tranquility.
The trio in cuffs are Ethan Altshul, born on the wintry day of January 17, 1994; Ryan Furr, whose birthday candles flickered first on May 18, 1985; and Cole Nixon, ushered into this world on January 12, 1991. Each man now finds himself behind bars at the Vista Detention Facility, their charges a chorus of drug possession for sales, felonious possession of a firearm, and prohibited possession of ammunition.
