
A tragic burst of gunfire shattered the peace of a Minneapolis neighborhood on Saturday, leaving one young man dead and two others wounded in what appeared to be a family-related shooting, authorities say. The disturbance unfolded inside a residence on the 3800 block of E 39th St., where an 18-year-old man is believed to have shot two older men before turning the gun on himself, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
Amid the chaos, officers from the Third Precinct were dispatched at about 10:50 a.m. after reports of the shooting surfaced, when they arrived they found a 57-year-old man and a 54-year-old man injured but alive, and they're expected to survive while the teenager's tragic decision had left him dead at the scene, investigators are working to piece together what led to this violent encounter, the assailant is believed to be the son of the 57-year-old victim. The case, referenced by the GO number 24-029139, is under ongoing scrutiny.
The identity of the deceased 18-year-old, along with the precise cause and nature of his death, will be announced by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office at a later time, as reported by the Minneapolis Police Department's official bulletin.
