San Antonio residents faced a fiery weekend as two separate blazes broke out in different neighborhoods, causing damage and rattling nerves. On Sunday, a north side home in the 21800 block of Dolomite Drive near TPC Parkway and Highway 281 became a perilous inferno around 1:24 p.m., sending a teenager to the hospital with burns, and an 80-year-old to the hospital as a precaution, KENS 5 reported.

While the cause of the fire remains a mystery, the home suffered significant damage to at least one room, and the rest of the place wasn't spared from smoke damage. The firefighting team battled the blaze but the extent of the damage has yet to be fully assessed.

Meanwhile, on the Southeast side of the city, another fire raged in the 600 block of Channing Avenue around 6 p.m. Firefighters faced a fully engulfed vacant home, yet despite the ferocity of the flames, they successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses, as FOX San Antonio detailed. Fortunately, the Southeast side incident claimed no injuries, but the ruinous fire left little of the home intact, posing question marks over its origin and the prevalence of such incidents in vacant properties.
