Four men were slapped with cuffs in a raid on an unfinished high-rise that's been a hotbed for illegal activity, the Los Angeles Police Department declared yesterday. Officers from the Department's Metropolitan Division, teaming up with Central Patrol Division uniforms, stormed the structure at the 1100 block of S. Flower Street after numerous reports of vandalism, trespassing, and theft at the site.
The police sweep landed Sebastian Zoro–Gutierrez, Andrew Rios, Mauro Aguilar, and Jessie Carreon in hot water, all nabbed and carted off to the Central Community Police Station on Tuesday. Amid the dangerous skeleton of the high-rise, their alleged trespassing had law enforcement on high alert, prompting the building’s management to seek a legal trespass order to prevent further intrusions, according to the LAPD.
Three of the suspected trespassers hail from Los Angeles, and the fourth is a Chino resident, police said. According to the report, the men - ages 29 to 44 - were booked for violating Penal Code Section 602 (K). While the Los Angeles County Misdemeanor Bail Schedule allowed three of the suspects to be cited and released, the fourth was held due to an outstanding traffic violation warrant, the department disclosed.
But the LAPD isn't closing the case just yet. Central Area Burglary Detectives are fishing for the public’s help to reel in more suspects linked to the flurry of crimes at the high-rise. Detective Lee is the point man on the case, and anyone with intel can reach him at 213-833-3750 during business hours or drop a dime anonymously to LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, as per the LAPD.
